Quins Home Opener Against Irish

The Pittsburgh Harlequins will look for their first League win this season on Saturday when the Washington Irish RFC drive over from the Nations Capitol.

Washington Irish RFC, beginning its first season as a Division 1 competitor, took down the Baltimore-Chesapeake Brumbies this past weekend at Hains Point in DC.  This will be the Irish first visit to Founders Field as a D1 competitor, having made several appearances in post season competition as a very solid D2 Club.

The Harlequins are coming off a Bonus Point loss on the road in an offensive shootout with the perennial League champion, Rocky Gorge.  Scoring early and often, the Quins put up four converted tries but were matched early on with big runs by RGRFC #8 Josh Brown and then multiple tries due to the offensive firepower in the backs.

Coach Eric Jerpe has been working hard preparing the club for a demanding Fall season, enlisting the help of local clubs for some preseason contact.  The Harlequins are looking to notch their first win this season to solidify their spot as a top Mid Atlantic contender.

Harlequin Alumni and Supporters are encouraged to make the trip up to the deck in support of the Quins first League match at Founders Field this Saturday.
