Quins Edge Media In Last Minute Thriller

The Harlequins took on Media RFC on a gorgeous October day at Founders Field.

Once again Pat Russel put the Quins in the lead with a well struck penalty kick minutes into the match. Media answered with a converted try, and the defense took over for a bit. With the Quins forwards having trouble penetrating Media’s stiff goal-line defense, Luke Titus grubbed through into the try zone and then recovered for an unconverted try.

Media notched one more for a 14-8 lead going into the locker rooms for halftime.

Half way through the second half, Titus made another long break for a try and Nick Koon converted for a 15-14 lead.

Media wasted no time to answer with a long movement of their own along with the accompanying conversion, to go up by 6.

With time running out, the Quins attacked repeatedly, but a strong Media defense denied them.

With the clock reading 0’s, Media was called for a penalty 15 meters out. The Quins chose a scrum, and a misdirection move sent big Luke in for the Hat trick. With everything hanging in the balance, Russel struck the conversion right between the posts for the victory. Final score 22-21 in favor of the Pittsburgh Harlequins.
