IUP Offers Friendly Warmup

IUPThe Pittsburgh Harlequins Rugby Club were scheduled to play Akron RFC, who had to cancel their trip to Western PA this past weekend.  Indiana University of PA Rugby Club, coached by Harlequin Alumni, were able to fill in the fixture at the last minute.  With only a few trainings under their belt in the just started 2013 Fall Semester, the meeting allowed both teams to try out new players in key positions in a friendly match on a beautiful day at Founders Field.

The IUP team is looking to build on one of their most successful seasons in history- making it to the National Championship Final-4

in Division 2 College Rugby this past Spring.  The Pittsburgh Harlequins would like to thank the IUP team for traveling at the last minute, and wish them luck as they embark on their Fall Season.

The Harlequins will play Norfolk RFC on September 7th at Founders Field at 2pm.  This will be the first official game of the newly formed Capital Geographic Union, the competitive structure within the Mid-Atlantic Conference of USA Rugby.

IUP will take on the University of Pittsburgh Rugby Club on September 7th, venue TBD.
