Harlequins Travel, Defeat Media RFC

By Alex Goff, Rugby Magazine 22 September, 2012

Two statements were made today as the Pittsburgh Harlequins and PAC won big in the Mid-Atlantic league.

PAC thrashed Washington 86-14 – the victory not being a surprise, but the margin perhaps worth noting – to move to 3-0. Meanwhile Pittsburgh was impressive taking care of business against Media at Media, 49-26. The Harlequins had to battle and didn’t really hit their stride until the closing 20 minutes. But that was enough as they easily secured a bonus point to keep pace with PAC 3-0.

Also victorious today in MARFU, Schuylkill kept themselves in the hunt with a tough 15-12 decision over Raleigh. NOVA rebounded from last week’s loss at Pittsburgh to defeat Baltimore-Chesapeake 36-24 in Virginia.

Despite the league being on a couple of weeks old, the competition is stratifying quickly. PAC, Pittsburgh and Maryland seem to be the top teams, with Norfolk, NOVA and possibly SchuylkillRiver working to improve a little and push into that top echelon.
