Harlequins Travel to DC

The Pittsburgh Harlequins travel to Washington DC this Saturday to take on the Northern Virginia (NOVA) Rugby Club.  The Harlequins, falling short in their first three outings by a handful of points, take to the road against a team also searching for their first win.  NOVA, plays at home after losing by 62 points on the road at Raleigh last week.   The young Harlequins team looked good in the second half against a very athletic Baltimore side, but the first 40 minutes they allowed too many points to make up in the second half.  The game was contested to the final whistle, with the Quins having the dominant majority of possession in a game that was within 10 points throughout.  The home team couldn’t quite get all cylinders firing together to upset the traveling team.

The Quins are traveling to Gravelly Point to play alongside the Potomac River in the shadow of the monuments (and under the roar of airliners taking off from Reagan National Airport.  Gametime is 1pm.  The Quins return to Founders Field on October 5th to take on the Capitol Geographic Union powerhouse- Potomac Athletic Club.  That game will also kickoff at 1pm, with plenty of seating inside and on the deck in case of bad weather.
