Harlequins @ Potomac Athletic Club

The Harlequins traveled light down to Washington D.C. to take on former USA Rugby Super League opponent Potomac Athletic Club.  The Quins got off to a slow start and got behind early in this friendly match and was never able to gain any momentum throughout play. The Quins never gave up through three 40 minute periods and finished the match with pride. The final score was 55-12.

Thanks to the young Quins who made the road trip to make our traveling total at 17. They were current college athletes Jon Valz from Carnegie Mellon University and Nate Verner & Keith “Liam Biskin” from Duquesne University.

The Quins were riddled with injury throughout the day including rookie, Jim Shere. Jim was the lucky one to go home with a few staples in his head in his first-ever rugby match. Congrats Jim and we’re glad you’re ok.

Through mutual agreement between Potomac Athletic Club, the Pittsburgh Harlequins and Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union, these clubs will face again sometime in November or in 2011 for their Championship Divisional League match. The particular day will be set at a later date between both rugby clubs.

Thanks to Potomac Athletic Club for their hospitality and good luck this season in the MARFU.
