Harlequins Bye Weekend, still plenty of Rugby

The Harlequins have a bye weekend from League play, but there is still plenty of local rugby to watch. The college scene includes D3 matchups of Slippery Rock Vs. Carnegie Mellon on Sunday at Founders Field, Fairmont travels to Franciscan, and Robert Morris travels up to Grove City.PSU-Behrend travels to Allegheny, Juniata hosts UPJ, and Washington & Jefferson travels to Beaver County to take on the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes.

In College D1 the undefeated Wheeling Jesuit team, coming off a 26-26 tie with #17 ranked Maryland, looks to maintain their undefeated record as they travel to Ohio State.  OSU is coming off a 30-39 loss to Indiana last weekend.

Pitt has the weekend off after hosting Saint Joseph’s University last weekend in a 40-21 win.  They will be back on the pitch October13th when they travel to the other end of PA to take on Temple.

West Virginia University will host the West Chester University Rugby Club Saturday at MylanPark.  WVU is coming off a road trip  loss to University of Delaware.  Delaware travels to Penn State for a Friday Night game at University Park.

In Men’s Rugby Pitt City’s D2 side has the weekend off, but their D3 side travels to Westmoreland Highlanders.  Also in D3 The South Pittsburgh Hooligans host Steel Valley- only in their second fall season after reorganizing the Youngstown club.

Plenty of rugby to watch this weekend.  Get off the couch and head to the sidelines!
