Final Home Match for the Quins

Founders Field,  Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Harlequins (4-2) will take on the Baltimore-Chesapeake Brumbies (2-2) this Saturday at Founders Field.  The Brumbies are coming off of a 55-15 loss against #1 MARFU club, Norfolk RFC, this past weekend.  The Harlequins are coming off a narrow (3-0) loss to Potomac Athletic Club, which dropped them out of the top 25 in the National Rankings for D-1 club teams.

The game this Saturday is a must win by Baltimore, as a loss could spell the end of their playoff hopes.  Conversely, a win by Pittsburgh all but seals a playoff spot for the spring.

With the game-time weather predicted to be typical of western Pennsylvania in the fall, Pittsburgh will likely make use of their very talented centers in the open field, and look to control the ball in the forwards.

Baltimore will look to its veteran forwards for guidance, but may be found lacking in second half fitness.  The resounding defeat on the road in Norfolk this past week could either solidify their resolve to scrape their way to a road victory, or could leave them disheartened enough to throw in the towel.

US Power Rugby has this matchup as the game of the week in the Mid-Atlantic, with the Harlequins a 5-point favorite over Baltimore.

The mistake of many teams in recent history is to underestimate the Harlequins abilities and assume that a rugby team from the steel city can only offer a limited amount of rugby skill.  Having lost only two games by a total of 4 points this season, the Harlequins are a team to watch.

Game time Saturday is 1pm, at Founders Field. Directions and additional information available at
