Eric Pelly Memorial Cup: Harlequins vs. Schuylkill River

The Harlequins will continue their MARFU Championship Divisional season when they face the Schuylkill River Exiles this Saturday in the annual Eric Pelly Memorial Cup. Kickoff begins at 1:00 pm followed by a B-side match at 3:00 pm. The Pelly Cup will be preceded by the Harlequin Old Boys taking on a combined old boys side from Akron, South Pitt, and Pitt City. Kickoff begins at 11:00 am.

The Harlequins kickoff their first annual Rugby for Life weekend this Thursday with “Wine and Wings” following practice at Founder’s Field. The festivities continue Friday with a shotgun scramble golf outing at Churchill Valley Country Club beginning at 1:00 pm followed by a happy hour, dinner, and an awards ceremony at CVCC clubhouse.

The post match social, catered by the Pittsburgh BBQ Company, will follow the B-side match Saturday. Please come support the Harlequins this weekend as we honor the memory of Eric Pelly and host our first annual Rugby for Life weekend. See you all at the pitch.



Quins retain Pelly Cup with a 27-16 win over Schuylkill River

The Harlequins beat the Schuylkill River Exiles 27-16 this past Saturday at their home pitch in Indianola. The Quins led at the half 22-3 and never looked back allowing two tries and two penalty goals to the visitors.

The Quins were led by Inside Center Nick Koon with three tries on the day.

The Harlequin B-side won handsomely 48-10.

Thanks to the alumni and the RFA for their support and a fantastic Rugby for Life event.

The Harlequins travel to Philadelphia next Saturday to face current MARFU Champs Media RFC. Kickoff begins 1:00 pm.
