Teams are coached by active and alumni Pittsburgh Harlequins Rugby players, as well as friends and neighborhood parents. The teams are based in the Pittsburgh Inner-City neighborhoods of Braddock, Garfield, Larimer, and Hazelwood. The 10 week program ended in June with the championship tournament at the Harlequins Facility 15 miles from Downtown Pittsburgh.

Garfield’s “G-Force” were able to edge out a victory over the very strong and young team from Hazelwood coached by Harlequin Board Member Matt Rippin. Garfield’s Coach, Steve Gruber, commented,”It’s my first year returning to coaching, but we’re already thinking ‘Dynasty’.” He added, “Maybe not dynasty, but at least we worked hard, stayed positive, and gave some young athletes a good time and a little taste of what success on and off the field can feel like. It’s a positive experience, and they deserve it.”
