Battle of the Burgh

The two biggest rugby names within 200 miles will face each other this Saturday at Cupples Stadium on the South Side. The game will kickoff at 2:00pm, with a B-side match immediately following.

Both the Pittsburgh Harlequins and the Pittsburgh Rugby Club have just kicked off their Spring season, The Harlequins travelled to Detroit last weekend to begin shaking off the winter cobwebs, while Pitt City ventured through the tunnels to take on South Pittsburgh Rugby Club.

The two clubs have been meeting almost every year since the early 70’s- and while at different periods each has held the upper hand, the game is always emotional and powerfully charged. Be sure to treat yourself to a contest including the top rugby players in the region, and then join us as we make our way up Carson Street to celebrate Saint Patrick.

The Harlequins travelled to the Midwest Rugby Union in a friendly preseason match against the Detroit Tradesmen last weekend as a warmup for their April 28th National Division 1 Championship playoff game in Boston. The Quins will continue their warmup for the playoffs on March 24th at Cupples stadium when they host the playoff-bound Cincinnati Wolfhounds RFC.
